A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is an important business milestone and is a great way to promote the grand opening of your business. Set your business off on the right track and receive great marketing exposure. It offers an opportunity to meet influential community members and get acquainted with your neighbors and Chamber members.

Ribbon Cutting Guidelines
Ribbon Cutting ceremonies are for Members who have:
  • Opened business in the past 12 months
  • Changed ownership/management
  • Changed location or opened an additional location
  • Remodeled or expanded present location
Member Responsibilities
  • Reserve a Date – Call Chamber three weeks prior to the desired date(s).
  • Designate Official Contact Person – will make arrangements and be in charge of event
  • Notify Corporate/Company Dignitaries – to attend and appear in the photo
  • Contact Mayor’s Office – arrange for a representative of his office to attend
  • Send Invitations – Invite family, friends, loyal customers and vendors. The Chamber can print mail labels of Chamber members and Village of Orland Park dignitaries for a $35 fee.
  • Provide Refreshments – Contact fellow Chamber member who provides catering
Orland Park Area Chamber Responsibilities
  • Provide Guidance and Suggestions – Call our Executive Director for ideas
  • Promote Event – via weekly email newsletter, website calendar and Chambergram newsletter calendar
  • Provide Media Support – list of local media contacts as requested
  • Provide Ceremonial Scissors and Ribbon
  • Provide Chamber Ambassadors – to meet and greet those who attend
  • Provide Photographer – will take photos at event
  • Present Certificate – to commemorate the ceremony
  • Distribute Press Release – send photos and press release to media contacts
  • Publish Ribbon Cutting – will appear in our Chambergram newsletter
