Media Coordinator Job Description

OPACC’s mission is to help businesses and organizations grow and prosper within the community. The Multimedia Coordinator is a key player in this mission, as s/he will coordinate all aspects of marketing, social media and video production for Chamber events, meetings, member recruitment and any other initiatives.

JOB SUMMARY:  PT Position 25 hours/week

  • Create and edit content to increase visibility, membership and traffic to the Chamber’s website and social media platforms
  • Monitor social media activity, including checking and responding to comments and questions
  • Work with local print publications to advertise the Chamber and important events
  • Design and update annual sponsorship booklet that is sent to members
  • Design programs, invitations, flyers and signage, and other informative documents to promote Chamber initiatives and events
  • Update Chamber publications, including membership benefits, annual report, shopping/dining guide, and any other newsletters and e-newsletters
  • Attend and promote Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, business after hours and any other initiatives to help drive interest and increase membership
  • Assist with large Chamber events, which includes set up/tear down and greeting attendees
  • Collaborate with the Membership Coordinator in planning and executing a scheduled monthly calendar, including ribbon cuttings, business after hours, promotional opportunities and annual events
  • Maintain and update website content and design
  • Analyze website and social media traffic on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate with external marketing contractors when projects are not “in house”
  • Actively look for opportunities to increase revenue and interest in the Chamber as well as how to improve marketing processes and activities
  • Creates and edits videos to post on Chamber’s social media outlets and website
  • Writes and sends press releases; proofs various written materials
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, written publication or related field
  • Strong written communication skills and can accurately proof graphic and written materials
  • Knowledge of the various social media platforms OPACC uses, which includes Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Skills to effectively design graphics and printed materials, including pamphlets, brochures and flyers
  • Ability to have flexible schedule for events, which includes evenings and weekends
  • Mobility to work in an office environment, requiring to remain seated for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
